Elements of Culture: Women in African Art.

This exhibit highlights the female form in African art and acknowledges women’s undeniable influence in all aspects of African culture. Their significance is chronicled in the sculptures, masks, textiles, jewelry, beadwork, pottery and other items that are used in day to day activity. We celebrate our maternal ancestors, our mothers, sisters and daughters and we acknowledge their vital contributions, roles and stories that impact our lives
