About Us

Sweets & Meats BBQ is a family owned & operated business with very humble beginnings. Co-Founders Kristen Bailey & Anton Gaffney bootstrapped while launching as a road side pit stop in the heart of their own neighborhood. The couple set up a tent on weekends in the Mt. Washington Creamy Whip parking lot during the fall of 2014, before renting a commissary kithen at the Patriot Center of Cincinnati where they were a tenant for 18 months. Upon graduating from the MORTAR Entrepreneurship Academy in December 2015, Kristen & Anton successfully funded a Kiva Loan for the down payment towards a custom built SDG BBQ food trailer and unveiled it in March 2016.

They opened a brick and mortar carry out restaurant in Mt. Washington at the former Little Caesar's Pizzeria in July 2017. In March 2019, a second food truck (sprinter) was purchased, expanding our reach for events on Fountain Square and private neighborhoods. Sweets & Meats BBQ has quickly grown to a brick and mortar location, operates two food trucks seasonally, and is a well respected caterer.

In 2021, we will be celebrating seven years in business. We are known for our award winning smoked meats, homemade sides and desserts using family recipes. Whether you stop in for an individual meal or enough to feed the family, we would love to help. Our experienced staff handles small to large gatherings including but not limited to weddings, corporate events, graduation parties, funerals, family reunions, and other social events. We offer personalized attention and can customize a menu to meet your needs and desires.
