RESPONSIBILITIES:
General responsibilities include but are not limited to: greet guests entering the facilities and provide accurate information; monitor access to the building by operating and monitoring security systems, including fire and CCTV systems; assist with coordination/communication during emergencies; periodic patrolling of the facility and its perimeter to ensure a safe and secure environment; document and report potential and real security and safety concerns; enforce facility policies, procedures and regulations; investigate unusual activity; respond to alarms and take action to normalize; utilize the master calendar system to direct and control visitor/staff/vendor access and deliveries; oversee the scheduling of Safety and Security full and part-time staff members; participate in the training of security associates; respond to and manage incidents and emergencies under the guidance of the Safety & Security Manager; maintain a high level of open and positive ongoing communication with all employees and resident companies to convey a sense of value and respect and to increase longevity of employment; in conjunction with the Safety & Security Manager continually analyze the effectiveness of the services, processes, procedures, and policies to assess and implement improvements for staff and guests; schedule and coordinate calendars with contracted service providers such as police, fire, and medical; schedule and coordinate permit applications as necessary; provide direct oversight of the security console desk operations, uniform management, and equipment maintenance; maintain and update policies, procedures and training manuals specific to staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of national trends in public assembly venue staffing; able to exhibit appropriate, professional, and courteous demeanor when interacting with staff, volunteers, and the public as well as local safety and security agencies; able to effectively and efficiently multitask, set priorities, shift priorities, and adapt to changes in situations; excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail; effective verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and use other software platforms; demonstrate proactive approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making; adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrate the highest level of customer service and response; work effectively with broad range of people in the community; work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The ability to work flexible hours, especially evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required. Experienced in staff scheduling, and access control and camera systems preferred. High school diploma required or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities.
The position requires the ability to exert moderate physical effort consisting of walking the entire facility and standing for long periods of time, along with work involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects, and is subject to lift to 40 pounds.
